a bit about Paper Crane Theory…

I run Paper Crane Theory, a one-woman slow fashion studio here in Burlington, Vermont. I’m Jess 👋 —a sewist with a deep love for upcycled and vintage textiles. I hunt for fabrics with a past, the kind that feel good to wear and have a story to tell. Then I turn them into clothing, accessories, and home goods that blend everyday comfort with bold, beautiful prints.

Everything you see here is made by hand, one piece at a time, in small batches. That means no two drops are exactly alike, and once something’s gone, it’s gone. My goal is to create pieces that feel personal—things you’ll reach for again and again because they’re both practical and full of joy.

In a fast-paced, often chaotic world, I believe we deserve to decorate ourselves and our spaces with things that make us feel good. Every item here is made to bring that feeling into your day, whether it’s something you wear, carry, or curl up with at home.
