sewn slowly, worn often

Thoughtfully made clothing and bags from vintage and upcycled materials, crafted in a home studio in Burlington, VT.

Hi 👋 I’m Jess.

I’m the founder of Paper Crane Theory and a lifelong maker with a deep love of sewing, pattern making, and creative collaboration. Since 2022, I’ve been designing and producing small-batch handmade goods—like dresses, pants, shirts, and crossbody bags—out of my home studio in Burlington, VT.

Everything you’ll find on this site is made by me, with care and intention. I also help run the Makery (Burlington’s first second-hand arts and crafts store) and help other makers bring their product ideas to life. Pop by and take a class or snag some supplies.
